Irvin E. Winkel
Irvin E. Winkel, 82, of Westmoor Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, in St. Joseph's Care Center West.
He was born on March 9, 1915, in South Bend, and lived in the Niles, Mich., area most of his life. He came back to South Bend in 1985. Mr. Winkel was a self-employed farmer. Mr. Winkel is survived by two sisters, Claudette (John) Sass and Irene (John) Rinkert, both of South Bend; and by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Winkel was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Montgonery; and by three brothers, Benny Winkel, Albert Winkel and Gordy Winkel. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road.Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
