MISS NYIKOS SPEAKS VOWS IN CHURCH
Rev. James Healey CSC performed the double ring ceremony at 9 am Saturday Morning in the Holy Cross Catholic Church which united Miss Nancy Beth Nyikos and Henry A. Meers in Marriage. The bride is the daughter of Mrs Michael Nyikos 1502 Obrien street and Mrs Victor Meers is the mother of the groom.
Palms, White Gladioli and carnations formed the background fot the ceremony with Miss Betty Kascis serving as organist and James O Hara as vocalist. The pews were marked with White Bows. The Hotel Lasalle was the scene of the wedding breakfast and the church hall was opened to guest from 2 until 5 in the afternoon.
Heavy ivory satin embroidered with seed pearls was used for the bridal gown. Across the skirt was a draped effect which formed a bustle and the dress had long sleves and a full train. The lace hedged vail of illusion fell from a tiara of seed pearls and the bride carried a prayer book.
Miss Patricia Melczek was the maid of honor. the bridesmaids were Mrs George Bousley, Miss Helen Marie Meers.
Frank Meers was his brothers best man and George Sousley and John Lawton were ushers.
The newlyweds will return from Chicago on March 6 to reside at 3325 Graceland St Indianapolis In. The bride is a graduate of St Josephs Academy and her husband graduated from Central High School, attended Notre Dame and is currently attending Butler University in Indianapolis.
