SOUTH BEND - Laura Meers passed away peacefully in her home on July 2, 2017, after a hard fought battle against cancer. Laura was the first born to Henry Anthony Meers (deceased) and reigning Meers Family Matriarch Nancy (Nyikos) Meers (age 89) in Indianapolis, Indiana. She leaves behind her most cherished, patient, caring, loving glitter princess and daughter, Stephanie Marie Petsche. Also surviving are her best friend - sisters, Kathy (Bob) Kent and Lisa (Tony) Augello, brother, Timothy (Gayle) Meers, and soul-sister of more than 50 years, Sandra (Danny) Rousseve, loving nieces, Sarah (Matt) Buescher, Katie (Patrick) Boden, and Molly Augello, and special granddaughter, Allison Ziegler. Laura is grateful for her supportive and compassionate friends, Alyce and Paul Lind, dear friends for over 30 years, and their sons, Jeremy and Justin, Linda Nevelle, Mary Jirasek, neighbor Randy Wrobleski, and many more - friends too numerous to mention. Laura thanks for you helping Stephanie and herself - We love you! Per Laura's wishes, her body has been donated to the IU School of Medicine for research.
A luncheon and celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Published in South Bend Tribune July 5, 2017
