Oct. 2, 1915 - Jan. 3, 2012 SOUTH BEND - Harriet Stella Pajakowski, 96, passed away peacefully at 1:30 PM Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion, IL. She was born on October 2, 1915, to Joseph and Mary (Knasinski) Radecki in South Bend. On July 4, 1940, Harriet married Edwin Pajakowski, with whom she spent 51 loving years. During WW II, Harriet worked for Wilson Brothers and later Harriet worked 20 enjoyable years at the South Bend Public library in the Children's Room. Preceding Harriet in death were her husband, Edwin W. Pajakowski; parents, Mary and Joseph Radecki; three sisters, Sabina Paczkowski, Bernice Sopczynski and Antoinette Radecki; and a brother, Roman Radecki. Harriet is survived by her children, Larry (wife, Nancy) Pajakowski and Ann (husband, Neil) Pence; and grandchildren, Benjamin and Ellen Pajakowski, Brian and Abby Pence; and many nieces and nephews. Church services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012, in Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend, IN. A private ceremony for interment will be held at a later time.
