SOUTH BEND - Alice Z. Prentkowski, 91, passed away at 6:15 am Wednesday, December 23, 2015, in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Alice was born May 27, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Jacob and Zuzanna (Gaik) Sobczyk. On October 8, 1960, Alice married the late Ernest Prentkowski. Alice was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marie Prentkowski. Survivors include daughter, Lisa (Bernie) Brennan; sister, Agnes Jenczewski; grandchildren, Abigail Brennan and David Brennan; great-grandchild, Emmerik Brennan; and several nieces and nephews. Alice worked for Studebaker for 21 years. She was a parishioner at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, December 28, 2015, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior in the church. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., is assisting the family. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
