ELKHART - Elmina “Ike” Peffley, 80, of 200 State St., died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday (Jan 19, 1993) in Americana Healthcare Center.
She was born July 23, 1912, in Merriam. As Elmina Keister, she married Herbert R. Peffley on Sept. 30, 1934, in Ligonier, and became a homemaker. He died in 1975. Surviving are four daughters, Ramona Stauffer, Mrs. Mark (Kathryn) Snyder, Mrs. Antel (Mary Lou) Szucs and Mrs. Donald (Veronica) Asher, all of Elkhart; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harvey of Albion. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rive Cemetery. The Rev. Hugh M. Rohrer of the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist will officiate. The Elkhart chapel of Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
