Theodore John Krizinski

DOWAGIAC - Theodore John Krizinski, 93, of Dowagiac, began life on October 24, 1918, in Dowagiac, MI, the son of Frank and Frances (Kinopinski) Krizinski. He served his country in the United States Army in General Patton's 3rd Army where he earned a Bronze Star. Theodore was part of the forces guarding the Nuremburg Trials. He was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Kidman on October 23, 1943, at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in Dowagiac. Theodore was a plumber by trade and a life member of VFW Post #1855. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golf. Theodore and Kathleen loved to spend their summers in Canada at their cottage vacation home. His loving family includes his wife, Kathleen Krizinski of Dowagiac; children, Joni (Richard) Campbell of Dowagiac, Kathy (Ron) New of Dowagiac and Tony Krizinski of Benton Harbor; grandchildren, Scott (Rebecca) Campbell, Karen Berberoglu, Kathy (Rusty) Morse, Adam New, Sara (Cole) Burrus, Eric, Brian, Heather and Toni Krizinski; great-grandchildren, Emilie and Chloe Campbell, Haley and Hannah Berberoglu, Brayden Morse, Aiden Burrus, Landon New, Brinley, Simeon, Taylor and Damien Krizinski. Sisters, Alice Lee of Dowagiac, Sylvia Blake, Dorothy Smola and Joanne Blahuta, all of Decatur; a brother, Roman Krizinski of Columbus, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Theodore passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Cass County Medical Care Center. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn in 1946, and a son, Robert Krizinski in 1998, and six siblings. His family will gather with friends at 12 p.m. on Saturday at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church where a memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m., led by Father Kevin Covert. He will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to Holy Maternity of Mary.
