Age 83. Former public official; born in Poland. Resided in Philadelphia, then Sutho Bend. Had been a former officer in Polish Army in France. He joined Gen. Haller's Polish Army organized in the US. Fought on the Western front and against the Bolshevicks during an invansion of Poland in 1920.
He was Portage Twp Trustee from 1926 to 1934, St. Joseph County Treasurer from 1936 to 1940; Indiana State Tax Commissioner from 1941 to 1948; Indiana Alcoholic Beverage Commissioner from 1964 to 1969. Retired in March 1969. Graduated from Notre Dame University in 1919.
Buried at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend.
Survivors include his wife, the former Genevieve Grzesk and two sons; Peter A. Jr. and Thomas J. Beczkiewicz.
