Regarding John Pesci's date of birth, a number of records agree that he was born in Hungary, but not on the date: The Catholic Church records of Gyor, Hungary indicate that Janos Pecsi, son of Josef and Rosi Pecsi, was baptised Feb. 6, 1880. (familysearch.org) The 1907 St. Joseph County, Indiana marriage application records indicate that John Pecsi was born Jan. 16, 1880 in Hungary to Joseph & Rosalia Szuts Pecsi. The WWI draft registration cards indicate that he was born Jan 14, 1878 in Hungary. His WWII draft registration indicates that he was born Jan 14, 1880 in Hungary. (images of original records, family search.org) His obituary in the South Bend Tribune and the Zahoran Funeral Home records stated that John Pesci was born Feb. 14, 1880.
