MISHAWAKA - Christine Marie Kovach - Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt & Friend, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at age 77, in Healthwin Specialized Care. She was born October 12, 1936, in South Bend, IN, to Leonard & Helen (Guzicki) Lukasiak, who have preceded her in death, along with her daughter, Karen Marie Kovach, brother, Leonard Lukasiak Jr., and son-in-law, Thomas Hagedorn. Surviving are her children, Charles A. Kovach Jr., Jackie Hagedorn, Kevin (Cindy) Kovach, Christine Kovach-Huling, Kenna (Bob) Leader and Keith Kovach; sisters, MaryAnn Kwiecinski, Fran Huff and Rita Harper; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Christine attended St. Joseph Catholic High School in South Bend and had retired from South Bend Plastics in Mishawaka. She had a love of roses, butterflies and swans, and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley. At her request there are no services or calling at this time, with private burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens; however a Celebration of Life event will be held at a later date with details posted on Facebook.
