SOUTH BEND - Gertrude M. Farkas, 96, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Healthwin. Gertrude was born on August 16, 1917 in South Bend as the daughter of John F. and Mary (Miller) Robaska. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and three brothers. On March 16, 1935 in South Bend as the former Gertrude Robaska she married Julius A. Farkas; he preceded her in death on May 21, 1995. Surviving are two sons, Julius (Lois) Farkas of Granger and David D. (Sandra) Farkas of South Bend; four grandchildren, Shawn Loutzenhiser, Brent Farkas, Brenda Ebersole, and David Farkas; six great grandchildren, Claire Farkas, Meredith Farkas, Matthew Farkas, Michelle Willem, Brandon Loutzenhiser and Callista Loutzenhiser; and two great great grandchildren, Ellie Ebersole and Olivia Willem. Gertrude was a loving caring mother, grandmother and friend. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31 at 2:30 p.m. with visitation one hour prior, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Chaplain Bob Puhr of Harbor Light Hospice will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to Healthwin, 20531 Darden Rd, South Bend, IN 46637.
