South Bend - Thomas A. Chrapliwy, 48, passed away at 12:48pm on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Memorial Hospital. Thomas was born on November 18, 1962 in South Bend. On December 2, 2003 in South Bend he married, Loressa, she survives along with his parents, Shirley Chrapliwy (Robert) Gerencser of South Bend and Melvin (Kathryn) Chrapliwy of Walkerton; two sons, Christopher (Marty) Hurt of Mishawaka and Dorian (Jackie) Campbell of Onley, IL; granddaughter, Aundrea Dixon, along with ten other grandchildren; five sisters, Shelley (Randy) Huff of New Carlisle, Toni (Chris) Wood of Brandy Station, VA, Kate (Jim) Russell of Germany, Sheileen Corbett of Kingston, PA and Margaret (Michael) Mann of Brooklyn, NY; five brothers, J. Patrick (Kimberly) Godwin of Carverton Heights, PA, James (Leigh) Godwin of Brooklyn, NY, Jack (Meagan) Godwin of Hanover Twp, PA, Robert Gerencser of South Bend and Thomas (Trish) Gerencser of South Bend; his mother-in-law, Geraldine DeBerry; and by his goddaughter, Morgan Huff. Tom was preceded in death by a daughter Landrea Hurt. Tom had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed concerts, ballgames, especially the Cubs, car shows, gardening and working outdoors. He loved all animals, especially his dogs, Waylon and Scooby. He enjoyed cooking and eating. He also loved spending time with his family especially his granddaughter, Muppet and his loving wife, Loressa. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, September 25, 2011 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Memorial service will be celebrated at 4:00pm in the Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net
