Norris F. Irvin, 84, of Ridgedale Road, died following an illness at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, April 21, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind. Mr. Irvin was born Dec. 8, 1917, in South Bend, to the late Floyd and Ethel (Schelmer) Irvin, and was a lifetime area resident. On Dec. 24, 1954, in South Bend, he married Marjorie Correll, who preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 1978. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Thelma Samanda, Lorene Sass, Lola Irvin and Lois Sexton; and by two brothers, Linden and Charles Irvin. He is survived by a daughter, Noreen (Doug) Hicks of South Bend; one stepson, Ron (Pat) Sapusek of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two grandchildren, Megan Irvin-Howard and Ben Irvin-Howard; and by a sister, Delores Rach of Eau Claire, Mich. Mr. Irvin retired from Niles Precision Company as an inspector and had also been employed at the former Studebaker Corporation. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery. There will be no service or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate, P.O. Box 88-541, Chicago, IL 60680-1541. The Welsheimer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
