SOUTH BEND - Mr. Robert Frederick Kabel, 75, of South Bend, passed away Friday at 11:05 a.m. in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center following an illness. Mr. Kabel was born on June 13, 1933, in Attica, New York to the late Fred and Marie (Marks) Kabel. On November 11, 1963, in Batavia, NY, he married Liane E. (Peska) Kabel, who survives, of South Bend. Bob was the former president and part owner of the Overhead Door Co until his retirement in 2000. He was also a US Army Veteran of the Korean War Era. He was a member of the Hebrew Orthodox Congregation. Besides his wife, Liane, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon Jackson of Chicago; three sons, David Hagen, Michael Hagen and Reuven "Rob" Kabel, all of South Bend; as well as 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five brothers and five sisters. Donations may be made to the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley, for the Robert F. Kabel Hospice Fund, 3202 Shalom Way, South Bend, IN 46615. Funeral services will be held today, March 23, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, on the corner of Jefferson and Logan, Mishawaka. (enter on Calhoun St. one block east of Logan south off Jefferson), with Rabbi Yisrael Gettinger, officiating. McGann Hay, Forest G.
