SOUTH BEND - Stefan Mniszewski, 100, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. Stefan was born December 7, 1913, in Kluczewie, Poland, to the late Jozef and Ewy (Bremborowicz) Mniszewski. Stefan was also preceded in death by sons, George and Joseph Mniszewski; brothers, Roman, Janek and Bronek; and sisters, Maria and Stefania. On June 11, 1945, Stefan married his loving wife, Anna (Kosinowa) Mniszewski, who survives along with their children, Christine Mniszewski of South Bend & Mary (Rich) Szymanski of Three Rivers, MI; grandchildren, Steve Mniszewski, Miranda Moes, Marit (Chris) Silvers and Brian P. Szymanski; and great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Connor, Marisa and Joseph. Stefan was a line worker with AM General and National Milk Company. He was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Stefan enjoyed gardening and nature. He was an avid animal lover. Stefan also enjoyed watching football, especially the Chicago Bears, wrestling, and cowboy movies. Most of all, Stefan loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Visitation for Stefan will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2014, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Rosary will be prayed and a Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Services, 922 E. Colfax, South Bend, IN 46617; and the Leukemia Society of America, 941 E. 86th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
