Joseph S. Mniszewski, 59, of Niles, Mich., passed away on Friday, August 18, 2006, at 11:24 a.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Joseph was born on June 7, 1947, in Hamburg, Germany, to Stefan and Anna (Kosinowa) Mniszewski. His parents survive him, along with a daughter, Marit (Chris) Silvers of Melbourne, Fla.; a son, Steve (Courtney) Mniszewski of Calhoun, Ga.; and two sisters, Christine Mniszewski of South Bend and Mary (Richard) Szymanski of North Liberty. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Helen and George. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, from 2:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544.
