MISHAWAKA - Elizabeth L. Dzierla, 95, passed away at 2:05 pm Friday, April 3, 2015, in the Hospice House. Elizabeth was born July 8, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Salomea (Bartol) Mindy-kowski. On June 24, 1943, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Elizabeth married Daniel Dzierla, who was stationed there with the U.S. Army before leaving for the Pacific Theater. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2014. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Terry; brothers, Leon, Edward and Harry Mindykowski; and a sister, Mary Was. Survivors include son, David Dzierla of Mishawaka; daughters, Carolynne Deadmond of South Bend and Diane (Kevin) Mark of Auburn; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a greatgreat-grandson. Elizabeth was employed at the Town & Country Newmans for 20 years. She was a member of the Elks Club on McKinley Avenue and enjoyed sewing, holiday baking, and most of all spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a very selfless individual who always thought of others above herself. Visitation is 2-8 pm on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior and a Rosary being prayed at 11:15 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
