Obituary from p. 15 of the 20 JAN 1941 edition of the “South Bend Tribune”:

. Vincent Michalski, aged 48, of 2425 West Linden avenue, died at 4:40 a. m. Sunday in St. Joseph hospital after an illness of two days. He was born in Poland Jan, 12, 1893, and came to South Bend from that country 38 years ago. On Feb. 18, 1925, he was married in St. Adalbert's Roman Catholic church here to Miss Gladys Ewald, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Ernest, Robert and Esther, at home; four brothers, Stanley, Michael and Ladislaus Michalski, of South Bend, and Frank Michalski, of Elkhart, Ind., and four sisters, Mrs. Catherine Jamrozy, Mrs. Rose Matuszak and Mrs. Laura Kruszynska, of South Bend, and one in Poland. Friends will be received in the home. The funeral will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday in St. Stanislaus' Roman Catholic church with Rev. Clement Ewalt, of Columbia City, Ind., brother-in-law of Mr. Michalski, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Polish cemetery.
