MISHAWAKA - Marylou B. (Phillips) Krawiec Fester, 83, passed away at 2:45 AM Monday, June 30, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Marylou was born on January 20, 1932 in South Bend to the late Stephen and Agnes (Baranyai) Phillips and has remained a lifelong resident of this area. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Phillips; former husbands, Mr. Edward Krawiec and Mr. Bill Fester. Marylou was secretary with the Oliver Corporation for 34 years. She also worked at White Farm Equipment Company, South Bend Chocolate Company, and was a greeter at Meijer. She was the owner and operator of Marylou’s Pool Hall and Fireworks on S.R. 19. Marylou was a member of Saint Adalbert Catholic Church, South Bend and a member of the Moose Lodge in Dowagiac, MI and in Elkhart, IN. She loved her family and cherished her time with her grandchildren. She also loved her cats and had great compassion for stray cats in need of care. Marylou is survived by her two sons, Mike “Big Joker” Krawiec and Ed “Little Joker” Krawiec, both of Mishawaka; daughter, Tammy Szabo of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Colin Ewing, Joseph Wyatt Goldberg, Danica Szabo and Davis Szabo; sister, Arlene Phillips Simeri of Elkhart; nephews and neice, Albert Simeri, Paul Simeri and Kim Simeri; relatives, David Krawiec, Greg Krawiec, and many, many more family members. Funeral services for Marylou will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Pastor Steven W. Coyle, Chaplain SJCPD, will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
