[N725] The following obit appeared in the 4-19-1944 South Bend Tribune:
FRANK A MAKOWSKI
Frank A Makowski, aged 66, of 2641 Western Avenue, died at 4 A.M. today in St. Joseph hospital after a week's illness. Born in Poland March 2, 1878, he came to South Bend from that country 39 years ago. Surviving are six sons: Corp Eugene Makowski of Phoenix, Ariz; PFC Stanley Makowski in Italy; Matthew, Marion, Bert and John Makowski, all of South Bend; two daughters Mrs. Wanda Cadacz and Mrs. Mary Schultz; a sister Mrs. Katherine Lesniewicz; a brother Ignatius Makowski and five grand-children, all of South Bend. Friends will be received in the home, after 5 P.M. Friday. The funeral will be held at 10 A.M. Monday in St. Adalbert's Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Ignatius J Capczunski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Jospeh's Cemetery.
