SOUTH BEND - Veronica Delores Gondocs, 77, passed away in the loving care of her family on Friday, August 25, 2017 at her residence in South Bend, IN. She was born to the late Adalbert J. and Mary I. (Stockton) Hojara on July 17, 1940 in South Bend. On December 23, 1957, Veronica married the love of her life, Joseph Gondocs, who preceded her in death on December 11, 2010. Veronica is survived by sons, David Gondocs and Christopher (Luann) Gondocs, both of South Bend; grandchildren, Joe (Lee) Gondocs, Chris (Jaci) Gondocs, Daniel Gondocs, David (Lindsay) Gondocs, Alycia Gondocs, and Jacob Gondocs; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Janie VanWynsberghe, Janice (Fred) Wolak, and Rebecca (Cecil) Brummett; daughter-in-law, Judy Gondocs; brother, Michael Hojara; and her Chihuahua, Rusty. In addition to her husband and parents, Veronica was preceded in death by her son, Robert Gondocs; grandson, Damien Gondocs; and sisters, Patricia Laymon, Alberta Keen, and Diane Deal. Veronica was employed by the South Bend Parks Department, working as a dietitian at Potawatomi Zoo. A Celebration of Life for Veronica will be held from 11:00am-2:00pm on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at American Legion, Post #284, 23571 Grant Road, South Bend, IN (next to Eby's Meat Market). Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
