According to the federal census records, both Katherine and Clement, a carpenter, were born in England. In 1920, they were living in Gary, Indiana, and in 1930 and 1940, in South Bend, Indiana. Their children included (in birth order): Robert, Ralph, Clement R., Leonard Thomas, Sarah, and Margaret.
