Kathleen M. Dietl
June 9, 1921 - Nov 3, 1996

Kathleen M. "Kay" Dietl, 75, residing on West Pulling Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 9:40 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, at the St. Joseph Community Hospital, in Mishawaka from natural causes. Mrs. Dietl retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation and Marian High School.

She was born on Jan. 9, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Oscar J. and Hazel M. Walter. She had been a lifelong area resident of the South Bend area, and had spent a few months out of the year in Gravel Lake, Mich., for the past 30 years.

On June 15, 1938, in South Bend, she married Richard E. Dieti who preceded her in death on Dec. 30. 1999.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Weaver of Granger, Ind. and Norma Lane of Mishawaka; three sons, Jerry D©etl, Lawrence Dieti and Richard Dietl, all of South Bend; 19 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Walter of Mishawaka,

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Dietl, on Feb. 20, 1995, and a grandson, Charles Dietl II, on
March 31, 1996.

Mrs. Dietl was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary of Post 1167

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday. Nov. 6, in the Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor's choice.
