Richard Edward Dietl

South Bend Services for Richard Edward Dietl, 74, of 20063 Pulling St., who was dead on arrival at 4:27 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. Burial will be at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Catholic Church.

Mr. Dietl retired from Mastic Corp. after 42 years of service. Born April 7, 1915, in South Bend, he had been a lifetime resident, spending the last 22 summers at Gravel Lake, Lawton, Mich.

On June 15, 1938, in South Bend, he married Kathleen M. Walters, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy Weaver of Granger and Norma Lane of Mishawaka; four sons, Charles, Lawrence, Jerry and Richard, all of South Bend; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Therrien of Granger and Mary Geraldine Arndt of South Bend.
