Hallie P. Goetz
Hallie P. Goetz, 61, of Rt. 6, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of one week. He was born in Goshen on Feb. 26, 1900 and had lived here since childhood. On Aug. 3, 1923 (1922) in South Bend he married Mary Margaret Kiefer, who survives. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.F. Goetz, of Mishawaka; a son, Bob (Kelsey) Goetz, of South Bend, a daughter , Mrs. Francis Ritter, of South Bend; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Raymer and Mrs. Dortha Kirk, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Hazel Coil of Elkhart; and a brother, Ralph Goetz, of San Francisco. Friends may call in the Hollis Funeral Home until noon Wednesday, then in the Wesleyan Methodist Church, where services will be held at 2 p.m.. Rev. Leyland Smith, pastor, and Rev. Richard Carr, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church of New Carlisle will officiate. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. He was a member of Bendix Post 284, American Legion and a veteran of World War I. He was a supervisor in the general maintenance section of the Bendix Corp..
