Ernest A. Makielski, 62, of 1017 E. Chippewa, died about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday in his home after a two-year illness. He was an employee of the University of Notre Dame's Athletic and Convocation Center. He was born on June 14, 1914 in South Bend and lived here all his life. On Feb. 10, 1945 he married Grace Linden, who survives along with a son, Terry of South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Rosanna Hopper of Granger; a grandchild and a brother, Alfred of Chicago.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Jude's Catholic Church, Rev. Edward Narcowich, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Published in the South Bend Tribune; Wednesday, May 4, 1977.
