Casimir "Pinky" Pinkowski, 76, residing in North Liberty, passed away at 9:09 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. Pinkowski was born on February 13, 1931 in South Bend to the late Casimir S. and Mary (Borlik) Pinkowski. He has remained a lifelong resident. On October 22, 1955 in South Bend, he married the former Marjorie "Marge" Mears who survives. Along with his wife, Marge, survivors include; one daughter, Brenda (Greg) Aldrich of North Liberty; one son, Scott (Mary) Pinkowski of South Bend; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Aldrich of Indianapolis, James Aldrich of North Liberty, Justin (Tara) Berryman of Mishawaka, Rachel Berryman of Mishawaka, Christian Pinkowski of South Bend and Joshua Pinkowski of South Bend; three great grandchildren, Max, Kaitlyn, and Beka Berryman; and two sisters, Adeline Corrigan of Three Rivers, MI and Lorraine (Max) Horton of Alma, Ark. One sister, Betty Trzaskowski, preceded her brother in death.Mr. Pinkowski was employed as a cement mason where he retired after 50 years with Local 101 in South Bend. He served his country in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Lydick Lions Club, North Liberty Masonic Lodge #266, F & AM, and American Legion Post 365 in North Liberty. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Mark Kline will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, where military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 365, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17th at the funeral home where a Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
