Margaret "Margie" Meersman Bradley

MISHAWAKA - Margaret "Margie" Meersman Bradley, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 2nd, at home. Margie was born October 9, 1942, in Mishawaka, to the late Maurice and Anna (VanOoteghem) Coppens. On November 14, 1958, she married Larry Meersman. Larry died on March 19, 1977. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Richard, John Sr. and David Coppens; two sisters, Mary Rose Portolese and Marlene Gosztola; one sister-in-law, Nancy Coppens; & one brother-in-law, Ross Portolese. On June 8, 1985, Margie married Earl Bradley. He survives along with her children, Larry Meersman of Mishawaka, Tammy Meersman of Osceola and Tod (Paula) Meersman of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Mitchell Meersman of Notre Dame, IN, Dani Meersman of Mishawaka and Dillon Oswalt of Osceola; twin sisters, JoAnn (Ron) Stealy of South Bend and Judy (John) Long of Greenville, SC; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Coppens of Mishawaka, Barb Bradley of Ft. Myers, FL; and two brothers-in-law, Bob (Debbie) Bradley of Elkhart and Wayne Bradley of Colorado. Also surviving is her beloved dog, Spooky. Margie and Larry owned and operated the former Larry's Esquire Shop that was located in downtown Mishawaka. She also worked at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for 20 years, retiring in 2007. She attended St. Bavo Catholic Church, was a member of the DeAmici's Club, the BK Club, and was an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 308 in Osceola. Margie enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends, going out with her husband on their boat, cheering on her grandchildren at their many sporting events, and watching old movies. Her grandchildren affectionately called her "Grammy" which she loved. She also enjoyed playing cards and board games with them. Visitation for Margie will be Monday from 4-8 at the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Barry England will officiate. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
