[N34171] Anne Marie Howard Konkey
Dec. 12, 1931 - Sept. 14, 2017

THREE OAKS - Anne Marie Konkey, 85, formerly of Three Oaks, MI, went home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2017 at the Willows in St. Joseph, MI, surrounded by her husband, holding her hand until the end, and their children.
Anne was born on December 12, 1931 in Galien, MI to Edward G. Howard and Bertha (Roberts) Howard. On September 16, 1950, she married Anthony P. Konkey in Niles, MI. They shared 67 years of love and commitment. Surviving are her husband, Anthony; her children, Cynthia (David) Zubik of Sawyer, MI, Susan (Daryl) Morris of Niles, MI and Scott Konkey of South Bend, IN; 8 grandchildren, David Zubik, Rebecca (Damian) Gonzalez, Stref Konkey, Seth (Kelly) Konkey, Shawn (Tania) Konkey, Chad (Jenny) Morris, Adam Konkey and Sarah (Brandon) Johnston; 17 great-grandchildren, and one more due in January 2018; and a brother, Edward (Lois) Howard of Galien, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Wesley; sister, Kathleen Lozmack; and son, Wesley Konkey. She attended Fellowship Bible Church of Sawyer, MI. She was formerly employed at Hunerjager's Department Store in Three Oaks, MI. Anne was renowned for her baking, especially her cinnamon rolls and coffee cakes, and if you were a recipient of one of those you were someone who was special to her. She loved to sew and quilt and do crafts and was a ferocious reader. She was a sports fanatic, often telling her family “You can go home now, the game is on and don't call while the game is on. Go Blue.” It was a joy for her to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting events. But most of all was her love for the Lord and her family which she always made priority. She was our amazing Annie, her laugh, love, and compassion and her strong faith in God and family is what made her uniquely special. Our lives will never be the same, but don't worry Mom, we will continue to be Konkey Strong. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Hoven Funeral Home. Funeral services for Anne will be at 2 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Willows Employee Fund, in memory of Anne Konkey, 3440 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085; or Caring Circle Hospice, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
