[N34170] Anthony P. Konkey
1929 - December 21, 2022

Anthony P. Konkey, 94, of St. Joseph, MI formerly of Three Oaks, MI, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022 at the Willows assisted living facility in St Joseph, MI. The Willows became his other family and he was dearly loved and spoiled by the staff. Our dad gained his wings and stepped into the arms of his Jesus and was reunited with his "Annie", son Wes, and son-in-law, Daryl. We can only imagine what that celebration was like. Anthony retired from Clark Equipment in 1985 to become a full time caregiver for his son Wes. Our dad had many gifts and talents from cooking to creating beautiful furniture and the art of renovations that he passed to his children and grandchildren. He was the mayor of the Willows who always had a hug or welcoming comment to anyone who entered. The family would like to thank the staff at the Willows and Caring Circle Hospice. Anthony is survived by his children, Cynthia (David) Zubik of Winter Haven, FL, Susan (Michael) Barnes of Hudsonville, MI, Scott Konkey of South Bend, IN; brother, David (Fern) Konkey of Niles, MI; and sister, Betty Kiell of Niles, MI. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, David Zubik of Stevensville, MI, Rebecca (Damian) Gonzalez of Lithia, FL, Stref (Erica) Konkey of Detroit, MI, Seth Konkey of Chicago, IL, Shawn Konkey of Chicago, IL, Chad (Jenny) Morris of Byron Center, MI, Adam Konkey of Westfield, IN, Sarah (Brandon) Johnston of Westfield, IN; and 19 great grandchildren, all whom affectionately called him "Bumps." He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony J. and Anna Konkey; wife, Anne "Annie" Marie (Howard) Konkey; son, Wes; son-in-law, Daryl Morris; brothers, John, Tom, Joseph, Daniel; sisters, Marie and Charlotte. In keeping with our Dad's wishes his children and grandchildren will gather privately in the Spring to lay his ashes next to Mom and Wes. Our dad is standing with his Jesus. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.
