SOUTH BEND - Geraldine L. "Gerri" Pellow, 88, formerly of Grandview Avenue, South Bend, IN, passed away at 8:42 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, in Memorial Hospital. Geraldine was born on October 27, 1923, in South Bend, to Herbert and Elma (Tetslaff) Kurzhal. She retired from Wilson Brothers where she was employed as a seamstress. On July 4, 1950, she married James G. Pellow, who preceded her in death on July 27, 1997. Also preceding her in death was one son, Rex Pellow.Survivors include one daughter, Lou Ann Bates of South Bend, IN; five sons, Walter (Loretta) Pellow of South Bend, IN, Herbert (Kathy) Pellow of South Bend, IN, James Pellow of Texas, LaMont (Jane) Pellow of South Bend, IN, and Gary (Anita) Nellans of South Bend, IN; 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Moorhouse of Toledo, IA, and Eileen (Richard) Haskins of Ft. Myers, FL; and one brother, Ralph Kurzhal of North Liberty, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow in Sumption Prairie Cemetery.Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Geraldine loved to camp at Hart, Michigan. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed day visits at the Milton Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adult Day Care at the Milton Home.
