SOUTH BEND - Anna V. Nyikos, 94, of Regency Place, died Sunday of natural causes in Regency Place. Mrs. Nyikos was born Feb. 4, 1900, in South Bend.
As Anna Bella, she married Steven J. Nyikos. He died Feb. 15, 1957. Surviving are three daughters, Anne Matthew of Woodbridge, Va., Katharine Janasiak of Michigan City, and Teresa A. Yates of South Bend; four sons, Steven J. Jr. of Broken Arrow, Okla., Joseph P. of South Bend, Richard of Indianapolis, and Michael D. of Elgin, Ill.; 33 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert E., was killed in World War II. She was a member of the V.I.P. Club at St. Jude's Church, the Legion of Mary at St. Jude's; a member of Senior Citizens of Fairfax County, Va., and Potomac Hospital Auxiliary of Woodbridge, Va., past president of American Legion Auxiliary 357, and a Gold Star Mother and member of Mothers of Marines. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Jude's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel, where a parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Building Fund or Red Cross of St. Joseph County.
