Ollie C. Gilmore, Jr., 66, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully at 10:49am Monday, December 26, 2016 at Hospice House. He was born February 21, 1950 in Jasper, AL, to Ollie C. and Evie (McCollum) Gilmore, and was raised in Buffalo, NY, before moving to the South Bend area in 1969.

On May 25, 1991, in South Bend, Ollie married Marti Izdepski, who survives. He is also survived by his mother, Evie Gilmore of Buffalo, NY; daughter, Sonja (Ivan) Hughes of Dallas, TX; son, Stephen (Ginger) Gilmore of South Bend; daughter, Shawna (Juan) Rodriguez of Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren, Jamykel, Joslyn, Joshua, Gianna, Gizelle, Givette, Antonio and Alyssa; and a great-grandchild, Deuce. He is also survived by sisters, Ruby Williams of Brandon, MS and Yvette Gilmore of Buffalo, NY; a sister-in-law, Beverly Gilmore of South Bend as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Ollie was preceded in death by his father, Ollie C. Gilmore, Sr., and a brother, Charlie Gilmore.

Ollie attended Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. He worked as a paint production operator at A.M. General for 32 years prior to his death. He was an avid fisherman as well as a loving husband, father, grandfather and son. Ollie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed.

Private funeral services for Ollie were held at Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel in South Bend. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery.
