Timothy E. Howard

Timothy E. Howard, 83, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 6:48 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Memorial Hospital. Timothy was born on August 29, 1928 in South Bend to Arthur and Leona (Hickey) Howard, and was a lifelong resident. He retired from the University of Notre Dame, where he was employed as an accountant. On June 20, 1956, in St. Casimir Church, he married Theresa B. Wegner, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Daniel A. Howard and John (Kirsten) Howard both of South Bend, IN; and two grandchildren, Timothy J. Howard and Matthew A. Howard both of South Bend, IN. Timothy was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Lally. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in St. Anthony de Padua Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. in St. Anthony de Padua Church, where a rosary will be prayed at 9:15 a.m. Timothy was a graduate of Western Michigan University. He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #303. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony de Padua Church, the American Diabetes Association, or the LOGAN Center. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
