On Sep. 24, 1894, Rev. Val Czyzewski, C.S.C., a Roman Catholic priest, married John F. Wesolowski and Bronislawa Sledzykowski in St. Joseph Co., IN. (image of original record, familysearch.org) According to the 1900 and 1910 federal census records of South Bend, Indiana, John Wesolowski, a butcher, and his wife, Bronislawa, were born in Poland, and both had immigrated in the 1880s. Their children listed in their census households were (in birth order) Bridget Hedwige/Hattie/Harriet, Edward A., John Jr., Tekla/Dorothy, Maria M., Joseph, Francis, and Angela Wesolowski. Bronislawa's mother, Mary Sledzykowski also lived with them. Before 1940, several of the children and Bridget had changed their surname, Wesolowski, to Winslow.
