SOUTH BEND - Theophiel J. "Bud" Maeyens, 86, residing in South Bend, passed away at 4:50 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Bud was born on December 15, 1925 in South Bend to the late Theophiel and Velma (Scheib) Maeyens and has remained a lifelong resident of this area. On October 16, 1948 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Lorraine (Coffman) Maeyens, who survives. Bud retired in 1977 after 14 years as owner-operator of Bud's Concrete and in 1982 after five years as a concrete contractor for Kaser & Maeyens, Inc. He continued working part-time at Kaser & Maeyens, Inc. for 18 years. Bud enjoyed bowling and golfing, and was a member of the Bowler's Country Club. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine C. Maeyens. They were married for 64 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Maryann (Tom) Davis of South Bend; sister, Elaine (Basil) Bryant of Mishawaka; niece, Jan Cohen of New Carlisle; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gary and Nancy Kaser, and their sons Jeff, Josh and Jordan. His sister, Alice Nutting, preceded him in death. Funeral services for Theophiel J. "Bud" Maeyens will be 12:00 noon Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, where friends may visit with the family two hours prior to services. Burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
