SOUTH BEND - Lorraine Maeyens, 95, of South Bend, IN passed away at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Southfield Village. She was born on September 16, 1921 in Dugger, IN to the late Burnett and Edna B. (Turpin) Coffman. On October 16, 1948 in South Bend, IN, she was united in marriage to Theophiel “Bud” J. Maeyens who preceded her in death on December 11, 2012. Mrs. Maeyens is survived by her daughter, Maryann (Tommie) Davis of South Bend, IN; sister, Eileen Bundy of McCallen, TX; sister-in-law, Bonnie Coffman of South Bend, IN and a host of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rupert Coffman. Mrs. Maeyens was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a bookkeeper for Bud's Concrete Company, previously working at Ball Band, Bendix and St. Joseph Bank. The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregiver, Kim, Southfield Village staff and the Center for Hospice staff. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services Tuesday.
