Theresa H. Szedenik-Goepfrich (March 26, 1913 -- Nov. 13, 2003) Theresa H. Szedenik-Goepfrich, 90, of South Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 8:17 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13 in St. Paul's Retirement Community. She was born on March 26, 1913, in South Bend, to the late Lawrence and Mary (Nemeth) Wartha. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Wartha and Edward Wartha; and three sisters, Olga Brothers, Betty Mendel and Mary Valleau. On June 26, 1933, she married Michael Szedenik, who passed away in June 1959. On June 8, 1968, she married Leo Goepfrich, who passed away in May 1993. Theresa is survived by two daughters, Marion (Don) Hollinshead of South Bend and Christine (Leo) Hauguel of Glendale, Ariz.; a son, Michael (Carol) Szedenik of South Bend; three grandchildren, Dennis (Kathie) Hollinshead of South Bend, Michelle Hauguel of Glendale and Teresa Hauguel of Glendale; and by a brother-in-law, Arden Mendel of Warsaw, Ind. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, in Holy Family Church. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County and to the Northern Indiana Food Bank
