August A Verleye, 69, of 526 W. 10th, died in his residence at 1am today after a lengthy illness. He retired in 1970 as a cost accountant from Bendix where he was employed for 28 years. He was born on April 19, 1909, in Mishawaka. On November 29, 1934, in St Bavo's Catholic Church, he married Irene Van Ooteghem. She survives with three sons, James of South Bend, Gary of Cincinnati OH, and Stephen of Sunnyvale CA; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Adaline) Rhinehart of Edwardsburg, and a brother, Theophil Verleye of Largo FL. Arrangements are being made by the Hahn-Peffley-DeVos Funeral Chapel where friends may call form 7 to 9pm Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Monday. Verleye was a member of St Bavo's Church; the BK Club and the Bendix Management Club.

Funeral Notes

Services for August A. Verleye, 69, of 526 W 10th, who died at 1am Saturday, will be at 10am Tuesday in St Bavo's Church. Rev. Stephen Cvaniga, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call form 7 to 9pm today and until 9pm Monday in the Hahn-Peffley-DeVos Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30pm Monday.
