Ronald John Pietrzak

MISHAWAKA - Ronald John Pietrzak, 80, of Chestnut Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at Hospice House, South Bend, following an illness. He was born in South Bend, Indiana on May 28th, 1932 to John and Cecilia (Podemski) Pietrzak who preceded him in death. On July 5th, 1957, he married the former Jacqueline Bybee who died in 1990. On August 17, 1993, he married the former Jeanne Koontz. She survives with six children: Tina (Wes) Wade of Elkhart, Gregory (Theresa) Pietrzak of Argos, Indiana, Steve Pietrzak of Mishawaka, Robert (Renee')Koontz of Mishawaka , Richard Koontz of Iowa City, Iowa and Karen Koontz-Keltz of Mishawaka. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren. Also surviving is a niece, Diane Hattery. He was preceded in death by two sons: Curt Pietrzak in 2009 and Larry Koontz in 1974. Mr. Pietrzak was employed by the South Bend Toy Company for 35 years before retiring and taking a new position as a Boiler Room Technician with St. Mary's College for 15 years, retiring in 1997. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 9th, 2013 at 11:00 am. Friends will be received from 4 until 8 pm on Monday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka and also one hour prior to the Mass at church on Tuesday. Officiating will be Msgr. Bruce Piechocki with words of remembrance by Pastor Larry Baker.. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Published in South Bend Tribune on May 5, 2013
