NEW CARLILSE - Sharon L. Piechocki, 77, of New Carlisle, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at her home. She was born on July 2, 1940, in LaPorte, IN, to the late Nelson and Myrtle Elkins. On November 12, 1966, as Sharon L. Elkins, she married Michael R. Piechocki, who survives. Also surviving is her son, Richard (Michele) Piechocki of Hudson Lake and six grandchildren, Alexis, Makayla, Faye, Melody, Liby and Viola. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lee Jedrzejewski on December 19, 2017. Mrs. Piechocki worked for 1st Source Bank before retiring in 2005. She was a member the New Carlisle Community Church and very active in her high school reunion class of 1958. She enjoyed going to breakfast with her friends from high school. A memorial visitation will be held from 11 AM until 1 PM EST Monday January 22, 2018 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend. A memorial service will follow at 1 PM in the funeral home with burial to take place in LaCrosse, IN at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
