SOUTH BEND - Sophia "Sophie" H. Klimek, 84, of South Bend, passed away on September 23, 2010, in Regency Place, South Bend. She was born on December 28, 1925, in Michigan City, IN, to the late Joseph and Mary (Rucki) Novak. On June 19, 1948, in St. Stanislaus Church, Michigan City, she married Donald T. Klimek, who survives. Sophie is also survived by her son, Thomas A. (Corrie) Klimek of South Bend, IN; her granddaughter, Sally Ayers Klimek; and a sister, Terri (Lawrence) Novak Witek of South Bend. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Stanley and Walter Novak Mrs. Klimek worked for Carlton Financial Computation for 13 years, before retiring in 1990. She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 pm Friday, September 24, 2010, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 25, 2010, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
