SOUTH BEND - Frances “Fran” Williams, 91, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016 in Memorial Hospital. Frances was born on November 6, 1924 in South Bend to Anthony and Frances (Czyzewski) Bogucki, and was a lifelong resident. She retired in 1987 from the Jackel Corporation. She had also been employed with the Bendix Corporation from 1943-1945. On April 12, 1947, in South Bend, she married Ralph O. Williams, who preceded her in death on December 12, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her son, Richard B. Williams; one granddaughter, Whitney Williams; one great-great-grandson, Alistair Patrick; eight sisters, Anna Czarnecki, Sophie Zelasko, Mary Cichos, Elizabeth Synave, Hattie Slott, Joan Swartz, Bernice Nijak and Sophie Davis; and five brothers, Anthony Koperski and Stanley, Walter, John, and Joseph Bogucki. Frances is survived by her daughter, Violet J. (Henry) Keranen of Edwardsburg, Michigan; two sons, David R. Williams of Taft, California and Robert A. (Lisa) Williams of Granger, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Michelle Hartzog, Larry Hartzog, Shane Hartzog, Alyssa (Nach) Uriarte, Mikayla Williams, Monica Williams, Shelby Williams, Noah Williams, and Ashley Watford; three step-grandchildren, Daniel Keranen, Sadie (David) Meehan and Betty Keranen; five great-grandchildren, Jerry, Jory, Amber, Jordan, Hunter and Payton; and one sister, Martha Palka of South Bend, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Frances was a member of Christ the King parish. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
