Suzanne E Dvorak
March 31, 1935 - December 9, 2021
Suzanne E. Ferry, 86, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at her residence in South Bend, IN. She was born on March 31, 1935 in South Bend, to William and Eulalia (Neisen) Dvorak, both of whom preceded her in death. Suzanne met the love of her life, John “Jack” Ferry, at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Jack moved up to South Bend to begin his dental practice. His brother, Dan enticed him to come to South Bend because the fishing was good, and there were lots of beautiful women. He “hooked” Suz and they were married on April 12, 1958 in South Bend. In addition to her loving husband of 63 years, Suzanne is survived by her children; Mary Kay Hinton of Mishawaka, IN; Jim (Jean) Ferry of Spring, TX; Jean (Keith) Badten of Aransas Pass, TX; Joe (Teresa) Ferry of Fishers, IN; and Anita (Eric) Youts of Granger, IN. Suzanne is also survived by nine grandchildren, Matt Hinton, Sara (Nate) Klosinski, Samantha Hinton (Alex), Michael Ferry, Katie Ferry, Taylor (Jonathan) Renninger, Kyler Badten, Cole Ferry, and Nicholas Ferry, as well as three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by three brothers: Bill, Dick, and Norm Dvorak. A lifelong resident of South Bend, Suzanne graduated from St. Joseph Academy. She was a caregiver to all, had a generous heart to others, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved Notre Dame and the Chicago Cubs, especially Kris Bryant. Suzanne had an open-door policy at her home and loved having a full house… even at her death. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at St. Thérèse, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family at the church, one hour prior to Mass. Private graveside services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Contributions in memory of Suzanne may be donated to St. Thérèse, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
