SOUTH BEND - Rose Zwierzynski of South Bend passed away on 8/22/2014 at her son Donald's home. Rose was born on 10/18/1917 to Rose Darius and Stephen Bagarus. She married Ted Zwierzynski on 3/27/1937. They were married 48 years. Rose, Ted and Donald were owners of T&D Shell Gas and Car Wash. Mom was the bookkeeper and always balanced the books to the penny. Rose was a wonderful dedicated mother. She loved us children; in her eyes we were perfect. Even after we grew up, she would fuss and worry about us. And on Sundays she cooked fantastic meals for us; she did this up until her late 80s. Mom liked to play cards with us kids. She knew the words to many songs. Mom lived with our brother Don for well over 7 years. He helped her through her aging years and for that we will always be grateful. Rose is survived by her children: Ted (Charlotte) Zwierzynski of Walkerton, Rosalie (Les) Galloway of Osceola, Donald (Jeanette Wertz) Zwierzynski of South Bend and Suzanne (Richie) Montalvo of Rochester. There are 14 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Ted (1985), and sons, Ted Jr. (Ponchie 1938), Steven (Muggsy 2008), Walter (PeeWee 2010), and daughter-in-law, Barbara (2003). We know mom is in heaven with the rest of our family and together they will watch over us until we meet again. We love and miss you all. Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 26, 2014, in Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 Monday in the funeral home where a Rosary will be recited at 5:15 pm.
