Ted Zwierzynski
June 25, 1939 - Mar. 31, 2016
WALKERTON - Ted C. Zwierzynski, 76, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Loyola Hospital in Chicago after a long journey trying to defeat Cancer. Ted was born June 25, 1939 in South Bend to the late Ted and Rose (Bagarus) Zwierzynski. Ted was also preceded in death by his infant brother and brothers, Steve and Walt. On October 3, 1987 in Walkerton, Ted married his loving wife, Charlotte (Burdick) Zwierzynski; she survives along with children, Donna (Jerry) Ross of Plymouth, Gary (Donna) Zwierzynski of Ft. Wayne, Wayne Zwierzynski of Mishawaka, Brett Zwierzynski of Lakeville, Kenneth Szymczak of Coatesville, IN, Tracey (Matt) Connors of North Liberty and Matthew Szymczak of Walkerton; sisters, Dee (Les) Galloway and Suzie (Rich) Montalvo; brother, Donnie (Jeanette) Zwierzynski; 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and many close nieces, nephews and extended family. Ted retired with IBEW 153 after 49 years. He also taught apprentice school to local electricians. Ted was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Walkerton. He was a lover of life and fine dining. Ted enjoyed fishing and camping. Ted was often asked if he was “Santa” which he secretly enjoyed. He was a die-hard Notre Dame football fan. There was nothing he could not fix and if you could not find him, he was in his barn. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Visitation for Ted is 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Holy Family Catholic Church with 1 hour visitation prior at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
