Aug. 7, 1930 - Dec. 9, 2014
SOUTH BEND - Virginia H. Wesolowski, 84, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle, Indiana. Virginia was born on August 7, 1930, in South Bend, to Chester and Helen (Greszczk) Deranek, and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed with Singer Sewing for 10 years; Simon Brothers for 10 years; Louvered Door Restaurant as a cook for 12 years; and St. Mary's Convent as a dietician for 10 years. On April 28, 1951, in St. Adalbert Church, she married Robert E. Wesolowski, who preceded her in death on March 2, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Weso-lowski; one granddaughter, Jennifer Snyder; and one brother, Leonard Deranek. Survivors include her daughter, Ann Blanchard (Jerry) of Edwardsburg, Michigan; three sons, Robert (Bonnie) Wesolowski of South Bend, Indiana, John Wesolowski (Dale Barn-ette) of Naples, Florida, and Mark Wesolowski of South Bend, Indiana; four grandchildren, Brad Wesolowski, Joseph Wesolowski, Luke Snyder, and Abby Snyder; one sister, Darlene Cain of Edwardsburg, Michigan; and one brother, Casimer Deranek of South Bend, Indiana. Virginia was the oldest of four children and learned from an early age to be responsible and hard working. She was a loving and faithful wife to Robert for 63 years. She was a compassionate and nurturing mother who worked hard to provide a wonderful life for her family. Her family was the joy of her life. Virginia loved to cook, especially Polish meals during the holidays. No one ever left her house hungry. She laid a foundation of faith to her family, especially her children, teaching and modeling the faith. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, from 9 - 10:30 am at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, and immediately following a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was a parishioner for over 58 years.
