OSCEOLA - Frank J. Leitner, 76, passed away on Monday, January 17th, at Hospice House in South Bend. He was born on February 17, 1934, to Frank A. and Margaret (Christy) Leitner in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. On March 18, 1972, he married Elsie VanDenDriessche. Frank is survived by his wife, Elsie; his son, Brian of Hillsboro, Oregon; his daughter, Beth (David) Bandy; his grandson, Felix (Beth) Bandy of Monroe, North Carolina; his brother, Kenneth; his sisters, Mary Lou Hauch and Donna (Kenneth) Holfeltz of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard and Raymond, and by his sister, Delores Monk. Frank graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1957 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He started his career in what was known as the Bendix Mishawaka plant and retired form Honeywell in South Bend in 1997. Frank enjoyed gardening and working on his fish pond. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, from 3 to 7 p.m., with wake prayers at 4:30 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 21, with visitation one hour prior in Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Father Daniel Scheidt will officiate. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial donations may be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544; or to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
