OSCEOLA - Lois D. Hominiuk, 88, of Osceola, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's in South Bend, IN. She was born on November 24, 1922 to the late Albert and Augusta (Uhlhorn) Alm in Culver, IN. Lois grew up in New Carlisle, IN, before moving to Mishawaka. She has lived in Osceola, IN since 1975. Along with her parents; one sister, Charlotte Smith; and two brothers, Albert and Robert Alm also preceded her in death. Mrs. Hominiuk retired in 1985 from United Conveyor in Mishawaka, IN, where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for 10 years. On September 27, 1947, as Lois D. Alm, she married Eugene J. Micinski at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. He passed away on June 22, 1974. On August 29, 1975, as Lois D. Micinski, she married John Hominiuk at St. Monica Catholic Church in Mishawaka, IN. She is survived by her husband, John; three children, Barbara (Don) Kominowski of Granger, IN; Kathleen (Donald) Fozo of Mishawaka, IN; James (Dolores) Micinski of Suquamish, WA; one step-daughter, Connie (Chip) Clemans of West Virginia; one step-son, Paul (Sue) Hominiuk of South Bend, IN; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Fozo, Rush (Rebecca) Fozo, Amanda (Mark) Bagwell, Joseph (Alicia) Kominowski, Andrew (fiancĀ©be Kelly) Kominowski, Alisa (Jason) Bell, and Erick Taggart; four step-grandchildren, Brian (Lisa) Hominiuk; Tara (Brian) Hamilton, Carla (Wes) Warner, Carrie (Richie) Bawcum; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Cameron, Will, and Logan; six step-great-grandchildren, Wes, Jack, Reagan, Matthew, Jacob, and Lauren; and one brother, Richard Alm of Sarasota, FL. Mrs. Hominiuk was a member of Queen of Peace Parish. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Chicago Cubs baseball games. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4508 Vistula Road, Mishawaka, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka, IN. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
