The 1910 census record of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, indicates that Marion immigrated from Germany in the mid 1870s. The 1910-1940 census records indicate that he and Martha had three children: Edmund, Marion Jr., and Marie.

Marion S. , whose record as a public servant and success in real estate and insurance field have marked him as a man of ability was born in Poland June 8 1871 the son of Joseph and Veronica (Jankowski) Wesolowski. At the age of eight years he came to South bend with his parents and here attended the parochial school. Later he entered Notre Dame and had completed three years of the commercial course when the death of his father forced him to leave school and goto work. The father throughout his entire residence in this city was a valued employee of the Oliver chilled plow works working for that concern as a blacksmith. He died 11/1/1889 at the age of 55, while the mother is still living, having reached the advanced age of eighty seven years. Besides Marioren in the family; Mary (deceased) Theophile, Eleanora, Julia, Theophilia, and John (deceased). When Marion S. Wesolowski left schoolhe started inthe Real estate and Insurance business with Geotge Kurtz, with who he continued until 1898, when he volunteered for service with the United States Army during the war with Spain. He had a natural taste for Army life and a native ability, remaining in the service until 1902. At the time of his honorable discharge he was a Sergeant, his conscieitiousness service won himthe favorable attention of his superiors. Upon returning to civilian life he returned to South Bend and reentered the Real estate and Insurance business until 1906. In that year he was chosen a Deputy County Treasurer of St Joseph County and such was his appitude forthis workthat he retained the position under Mr. Stover until 1920. He then engaged in an independent Real estate and Insurances with offices at 1244 West Division,this venture being most successful. He was married in 1902 to Martha Witkowski of Chicago and they have three children Edmond, Marion Jr. and Mary. He is a Democrat politically and belongs to a number of organization in South Bend of a political and fraternal nature including the Eagles, the Woodsmen, the Polish Falcons, the Army Navy Union and the Veterens of the Spanish War.
